Right to Choose? Only Regarding Abortion

The Democrat National Convention is over, but, just like the health care bill, we are still finding out what was in it. Take for example this video from Reason TV where the reporter asked liberal folks at the convention whether they were pro-choice. Turns out there are contradictions all around when it comes to being pro-choice. But, "people are made up of contradictions," as one interviewee says. Here are the introduction and the video from You Tube.

The official Democratic Party platform "strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay."

Reason TV talked with Democratic delegates and supporters at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte and found that most were on board with the party's strong pro-choice stance. But when pressed to talk about whether or not they were pro-choice in areas of human activity beyond abortion, delegates and supporters seemed less certain and, at times, outright hostile to the notion of increased choice.

Approximately 4 minutes.

Once again, proof that when it comes to liberals, there is no room for logic. Or choice -- especially when it comes to the general public having a choice on whether or not to pay for their abortions.

So for these liberals, the "right to choose" only extends to a woman's body. It does not extend to union membership, or drinking sodas, or school choice, or lightbulbs, or healthcare, or anything else that the Democrats want to regulate.

I guess in the end, the choice of when we have a choice is theirs.
