Unfair! Obama Not Allowed to Use Teleprompter!

Was I right or was I right? The New Yorker picked up on my observation that Obama was Eastwooding on Wednesday night at the debate -- he did not show up!

So why did President Obama bomb so badly at the first debate on Wednesday night? If you ask the students who support him at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, it is likely because the debate commission refused to allow President Obama to use his teleprompter (TOTUS).

Breitbart.com had a reporter on the street when a group left the auditorium after an Obama rally on Thursday. As students left, he asked students and other adults if they thought it was unfair that Obama was not allowed to use a teleprompter at the debate the night before. I am astounded at the responses, especially from supposedly educated people.

Maybe those students actually listened to Newt Gingrich about 8 months ago when he was still in the race for the Republican nomination. He said that if he became the Republican nominee, he would challenge Obama to 7 three-hour debates and allow Obama to use a teleprompter. Of course, anyone with a fifth grade education knows that a debate is meant to show how you think on your feet. I guess UW Madison students are not as smart as a fifth grader!

Obama Bullies a Girl, an Old White Couple and a Black NAACP Official

My high school stepdaughter came home tonight and related how her liberal government teacher was going  on Mitt Romney today about not releasing more tax returns, and that he (the teacher) does not understand how Romney does not understand that "we" are entitled to this information. Then, raising her arm frantically  she said, "Yeah, like we're not entitled to see Obama's birth certificate or his college records or his passport and his Social Security records...." I asked excitedly, "Did you say that?" Like a souffle falling, she said, "No." "Why not?" I asked incredulously. She had said it with such force and confidence, I thought she had taken a stand against the indoctrinating bully teacher. "Because all the people in my class are Democrats," she confided.

Sadly, there has been no shortage of bullying when it comes to some liberal Democrats against those who do not agree with their viewpoints. Three instances of such bullying came to my attention today. First is the story out of Philadelphia about a female high school sophomore who was bullied by a teacher when she wore a Romney Ryan t-shirt to school.

Samantha Pawlucy, a 16-year-old student in Philadelphia says that a teacher ridiculed her for wearing a Mitt Romney t-shirt in class. The teacher told her to leave the classroom, but she refused. Good for her! Later the teacher tried to say that it was a joke. But the damage is done, and the truth is evident.

The second bullying story that I read today  was about an elderly couple in California. Now, California is essentially a cesspool of liberalism, so this story is not a surprise. That's not to say it's not infuriating, nonetheless. The couple in their 70s said that some months ago they put out a handmade Romney for President sign in their yard

To date the couples prized sign has been destroyed six times. Gene Liboff, age 78, says his wife will not be deterred. She meticulously repaired the sign and put it back out after each destruction. On one recent occasion a passerby said to Dee, "You are dead," when he saw her replacing the repaired sign. So, shortly thereafter, when she saw a baby food jar with liquid and a wick inside it laying near the sign, she thought it was a Molotov cocktail. Police confirmed that it was intended to imitate an incendiary device and intimidate the couple, but they tested the liquid and found it was not flammable. Despite that fact, the incidents of bullying and intimidation still have the intended effect of stifling the freedom of expression of those who know about what will happen if they express their viewpoints.

The third bullying example that I learned of just today is a bit different. It is Obama supporters perpetrating the intimidation, but it is not against a conservative or a Republican. Rather, Obama's minions threatened the President of the South Suburban Branch of the NAACP.

Thugs. That's what these people in the Obama campaign are. They intimidate. They use Saul Alinsky tactics. They use the Chicago way. These people who are reporting the abusive actions have reason to be afraid.

Obama lost the debate. He HATES to lose. That's why he and his minions skewed the unemployment numbers today to below 8%. He bombed so badly in the debate that they are trying to boost him up by manipulating the jobs numbers. But Obama revealed his true beliefs yet again today when he said right here in my state that "NO ONE IS ENTITLED TO SUCCESS"!! Here is the proof:

We are a month away from determining the future of this country. There are fundamental differences in the candidates. We cannot go FORWARD with a man who believes that NO ONE is entitled to success. It is despicable, disgusting, and unpatriotic.Pass this video around. Do not be afraid to STAND YOUR GROUND and SPEAK YOUR MIND! Do not let the bully's stifle the truth.

Monkey Jesus Evolves into Modern Art

FOLLOWUP: You might have read my blog post about 6 weeks ago wherein, as part of the entry, I wrote about an elderly woman in Spain who attempted to restore a crumbling 19th century fresco. Let's just say that the restoration was less than successful.

Before and after "restoration."

Oddly, since that time, the "Monkey Jesus" has become more popular than the original artwork. So the latest in the story is that the Monkey Jesus has now become a popular Halloween costume.

You can see more of the creative costume here.

"Meany Pants Mitt" versus "The Smirk"

After last night's Presidential debate, which was won overwhelmingly by Mitt Romney, the DNC had to find something negative to use as fodder for a new ad attacking Mitt Romney. Here is the devastating new ad (yes, I am being facetious, and no, it's not an SNL preview for this week's show -- it's a REAL DNC ad) called "Mitt Romney: What a Guy."

That's almost as desperate as Al Gore suggesting that Obama's incompetence was a result of the altitude of the Mile-high city! Gore exposed himself with this completely moronic suggestion!

The RNC, on the other hand, immediately came out with a truly devastating new ad called simply "Smirk."

Only one of these men looked like he deserves to be the Chief Executive. . . the Commander in Chief and . . . the Leader of the Free World. And it was not the man who currently holds those positions. Last night, the Emperor was exposed, not by an innocent child, but by a true Patriot.

Presidentail Debates 2012: Romney 1, Obama 0

Yesterday I was not happy that Teddy Roosevelt won the Presidents’ race at the last Nationals’ home game of the season. But that disillusionment about presidential races dissipated by 10:30 p.m. last night. That was when the first 2012 Presidential debate ended, and Mitt Romney came out the clear winner—even by MSNBC standards—over President Obama. Despite the way some pundits are trying to downplay the Republican candidate’s victory, Romney took a giant step closer to winning THE Presidential race—the most important election that this country has faced in the lifetime of any living person (if not ever).

The contrast between Obama and Romney last night could not have been clearer. Romney was prepared, to say the least. Obama clearly was not, and he appeared to not want to be there. There was something very odd about Obama’s face. He looked thin and haggard, he used “uhs” and “”ums,” he looked down, he smirked and shook his head. Every now and then he tried to look relaxed by breaking into a huge grin – the Cheshire cat came immediately to mind. Romney was Presidential, poised and personable. Obama was confused, confounded, and clueless.

Pundits are saying that Romney delivered no “zingers” last night. They seem to discount Romney’s win for the lack of clear sound-bites. But I think that is the best part of it. If Romney had delivered some type of knockout punch, liberals would have jumped on it and skewered him for being disrespectful or un-Presidential. As it is, Romney just hit Obama with steady punches in the form of cold hard facts about what the devastation that Obama has caused to this country’s economy over the last four years. Proof that the truth will always set you free!

I was texting with my youngest sister through much of the debate. Like me, she is passionate about this election and the dire consequences that it will have on the country. Toward the end of the debate Romney said that on the day after he is elected he will sit down with Democrat and Republican leaders and discuss the issues. Obama then made a snarky remark about how Romney was going to be busy on his first day as president because he has also said before that he would also repeal Obamacare on Day 1. Here is Obama's exact quote: "Well, first of all, I think Governor Romney's going to have a busy first day, because he'll repeal Obamacare, which will not be very popular among Democrats as you're sitting down with them." My sister texted me: "R should say 'yes i AM going to be busy on my first day and get it done because I won't be golfing or vacationing in Hawaii!'" Amen to that!

Drudge’s headlines and pictures this morning tell the story.

And Breitbart has a terrific headline, picture and lead-in by Joel B. Pollack:
Halfway through, they should have stopped the fight. Gov. Mitt Romney eviscerated a staggering and bewildered President Barack Obama tonight in one of the most lopsided presidential debates in American history. Throughout the debate, which focused on domestic policy, Obama looked shaken, rarely looking at the camera, reciting old talking points and filibustering as Romney gave a master class at the University of Denver.

Last night Obama fell back on his legislative tactics. He voted “present” but had nothing else to offer. Eastwooding represents the empty chair in the White House...

... and now the empty podium. Obama failed to show up last night.

The stage hand could have stood in and does as well as Obama.

If last night was a Dancing with the Stars episode, Obama was dancing freestyle—badly—and Romney was dancing the paso doble—amazingly!

So, the presidential race winner that I want to see in the very near future is not Teddy, but Mitt.

One down and three to go!
I can't wait to see Ryan take on Biden next week!

Teddy Wins - What a Let-Down

There is a tradition in every Washington Nationals home baseball game. It it the Race of the Presidents. It’s a fun thing to watch as the four big-headed presidents leave the bullpen area and run along the stands to toward the Nats’ dugout. The four presidents are the ones on Mount Rushmore:

George Washington,                     Thomas Jefferson,                      Abraham Lincoln, and ...
IMG_5328  IMG_5329  IMG_5325
….Teddy Roosevelt. IMG_5326

In all the years of racing, Teddy has never won. It is one of those things that began innocently, but over the years it became a point of division. There were those who pleaded and begged for Teddy to be allowed to win. For example, the blogger at LetTeddyWin.com has made a living off of the losing big-headed President. He has videos from a large number of Teddy’s 525 consecutive losses.

And then there were those like me who like having a perennial loser. Sometimes Teddy pulls ahead, but he always trips up or stumbles or runs the wrong way. I like knowing that he tried hard, but just couldn’t quite make it. Yet he always came out with a smile on his face. I could relate. When I was a kid, it was Wiley Coyote and Roadrunner. Wiley tried so hard to get that bird for a meal. He tried every Acme gadget, and he just could not pull it off.

As a child, I found myself wanting Wiley Coyote to capture the Roadrunner. But I knew even then that I would be horrified if he succeeded. It just was not meant to be. It was part of life. From the Roadrunner always escaping and the Supergenius always failing to capture him, I learned that Life is not always Fair. Not everyone can win. Without Wiley's predictable losing, I would have thought that I was a loser, that I was the only one who could not make the cheerleading squad in grades 7 and 8. But Wiley always tried again. If he had ever won, the story would have ended. No more cartoons. I believed the theme song: "Roadrunner, the Coyote's after you. Roadrunner, if he catches you you're through."

And that is what Teddy's losses at the Nat's home games did for me as an adult for the last 6 years that I have been attending. It was the one sure thing at Nats Park. They might win or they might lose, but the outcome of the President's race was not in doubt. Teddy would lose. Winning did not matter.

Then there was today. The last game of the 2012 season. The Nats clinched the playoff berth on Monday night, and last night won their 97th game of the season. Today was the last regular season game, and it was a home game. And it happened. The unthinkable. Teddy won.

Did you see how Teddy did a victory dance? He was not a humble winner. I know it was a big moment for him. But it was anti-climactic at best.

I hope this was the equivalent of a one-hit-wonder. I like cheering for the underdog. I don't want Teddy to win again. I want him to lose and still keep on smiling. That would go a long way toward restoring my faith in humanity.

Teddy Roosevelt's statue on the island named after him.

Buried Alive: Obama Shovels It On

Joe Biden strikes yet again -- he's the gaffe that keeps on giving! Only this time Joe told the truth, so the yolk's on Obama! Yesterday at a campaign rally, here's what Joe said:

"How they can justify raising taxes on the middle class that's been buried in the last four years," Biden, addressing supporters in North Carolina, said in reference to the period he and Obama have been leading the nation.
I know -- What?? Who is it that enacted the largest tax in the history of the world -- in the form of Obamacare? Who is it that does not want to extend the Bush tax cuts to avoid increasing taxes on the middle class AND the poor? The part he got right is that Obama has buried us over the last four years. And to think that this guy is Vice-President? A heartbeat away from the Oval Office. Lord help us!

Inspired by Joe's truth-telling, I created this cartoon.

(I won't quit my day job yet. I just hope it doesn't get buried alive also before we can bury this administration!)
